Jim Irizarry (currently second-in-command and candidate for Assessor) is enthusiastic about implementing an AI-powered system that would use aerial imagery – similar to Google’s technology – to analyze properties from multiple angles, covering a period from approximately 2010 to the present. The system would use AI to detect whether any construction or modifications were made to a home, then cross-reference that data against permit records to identify unpermitted work.
Do you want this “Republican” to increase everyone’s tax base? Where are our property rights? Is this inconsistent?
He views this as an opportunity to generate additional tax revenue, which critics argue would simply be reinvested into further technology spending.
